Trust the process of letting go.

"Sometimes letting go is a greater act of power than defending or hanging on." -Eckhart Tolle

Society is really great at instilling principles in us that do NOT match our individual journeys. Have you ever assigned an age to when you think you “should” be married by? Or have you thought to yourself that if at 30 you aren’t in the job you will retire from you aren’t successful?! I have thought these things and many others like them.

Last month I was sitting at my girlfriend’s house, watching her kids play, chatting to her about her upcoming wedding, thinking to myself I’m turning 30 in a few months and here I am focused on building my business when I should be finding the partner I am going to settle down with. It was in that moment that I realized it was time to change my perspective and let go of the limiting, preconceived ideas I had for my life.

We all have a different journey to walk. Our obstacles, milestones, our routes, our transportation method, our schedules, our mountains, they are different because they are uniquely ours. We were placed on this earth with everything we need to handle anything life throws our way and to build a life that lights us up from the inside out.

You have heard it from me many times before, and I will continue to say it, comparison is the thief of all joy! STOP comparing your journey to someone else’s. Sure I don’t have a husband or kids yet, but I do have a thriving company and most importantly I go to bed every evening happy. My mission, my lifestyle, and my goals are aligned. I am hitting the milestones I am meant to hit on my journey at the exact moment I am meant to.

The success and happiness and fulfillment that lays ahead of you will be a result of your ability to let go of the past and the preconceived ideas you have for the future. Embrace every moment of each and every day, trust your journey, and live as if today is your only opportunity to chase all of your dreams!
